Documents Necessary To File

General Information:

  • Will or trust instrument.

  • EIN of the estate or trust.

  • Name and address of the fiduciary (executor/trustee).

  • Prior year's Form 1041.

  • Proof of estimated taxes paid.

  • Name, address, and SSN/EIN of all beneficiaries.

Financial Documents:

  • Forms W-2, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, and other income statements.

  • Schedule K-1s from any partnerships, S-corporations, or other trusts in which the estate or trust has an interest.

  • Records of expenses and deductions, such as attorney fees, accounting fees, and other administrative costs.
