General Business Information:

  • Employer Identification Number (EIN).

  • Prior year's federal, state, and local tax returns.

  • Articles of incorporation or bylaws (including any amendments).

  • A list of all states where the business has nexus.

  • Proof of estimated tax payments.

Financial Records:

  • Trial balance report from your accounting books.

  • Profit and Loss Statement (Income Statement).

  • Balance Sheet.

  • Bank and credit card statements.

  • All Forms 1099 and W-2 issued by the company.

  • Reports detailing federal, state, and local payroll taxes paid (Forms 940 & 941).

Asset Records:

  • Prior year's depreciation schedules.

  • Information on assets acquired or disposed of during the tax year (date, cost, sales proceeds, etc.).

  • Mileage logs for business use of vehicles.

 Stockholder Information (C-Corp):

  • Name, address, and SSN/EIN of each shareholder/stockholder.

  • Reports of all capital contributions, withdrawals, or loans.

  • Reports of compensation and benefits for each owner.
